Originally meant to be my Sgt. Telion conversion for the army in the previous edition of the marine codex, this model will be my sergeant for a new scout sniper squad that I am working on. I used a few metal bits to give the model a unique look, along with as much wargear WYSWYG that Telion has. I will post more photos in the future along with the squad in future updates.

WIP: Predro Kantor
Pedro Kantor is the Fist's current Chapter Master, and until recently I hadn't had the chance to work on him much. Now that I am caught up with the army to the point where I am satisfied with it's size I am able to put in some time adding the Chapter Master into my army. He has been sitting in my ToDo model case for a while in nothing but primer, now he has some paint! I have tried to paint him as close as I can to the current GW painted CF model. What do you think?

WIP: New CF Scouts Additions
Here are some photos of some new scouts I am working on for the army. Since I finished the first 2 squads of scouts I have been planning on filling them out to 10 men each for a full squad. Now I have caught up and I am finishing these 8 new scouts for those squads. I can combat squad the other bolt pistol and knife scouts to the Landspeeder Storm and leave the bolter scouts with the rocket launcher scout.

Crimson Fist Motor Pool: Rapier Laser Destroyer Batteries
The Rapier Laser Destroyer battery is one of those few 40K items that have been around since Rogue Trader days, much like the Crimson Fist. When ForgeWorld released a new set of rules for these weapons I had to add some to my fist army. I had 2 old RT Rapier models sitting around for a long time, and this was the perfect time to add them to the force. The rules for these bad ass weapons are still on FW's site in the download area, here. The new rules have brought back a very deadly piece of gear to marine armies in 40K. The original plan was to make this unit useful in both my CF and Valhallan armies, but I chose to stick with fist only in the end. As for the crews I created a few marines with 2 extra marine I had sitting around with bolters from the starter sets, and the other 2 being made with auspexes in their hands as remote controls for the batteries. This was also the first time I used bits from the new marine tac squad box to build a marine for this unit. The one with a bolter one handed is made from the new box set bits, very handy!

Crimson Fist Motor Pool: Landspeeder Storm #1
The Landspeeder Storm was one of those vehicle types that were new to space marines in the last edition. I liked the look of it, and it was also a transport for scouts which was handy since I was planning on building a scout heavy army. The speeder got better in this edition by becoming a dedicated transport instead of just a fast attack choice, now my FA choices were open for other things like scout bikes! I chose to go with a multimelta on this speeder to give my scouts a heavy punch while the scouts deploy forward either on the speeder or infiltrating. I still plan on adding 2 more landspeeder storms to the army since I will have 3 scout squads in the force. I may try some of the other weapons options in my other storms.

Crimson Fist: Chaplain Olmos
Chaplain Olmos is a recent addition to my collection when I was able to snag one of the very cool chaplain in terminator armor models. I had an extra HQ spot open and a chaplain is a handy upgrade to my massive terminator squad. With his leading them it gives the squad a better chance to land extra damage. I have had some great results with him so far in the few battles he has fought and the model is one of GWs best terminator characters they have ever made I think....

Crimson Fist Motor Pool: Predator Battle Tank
Finally the last piece of armor recently finished for my Fist army....A Predator battle tank! One of my fave tanks in all of 40K, when I began building the army FOC I placed at least 1 Pred in the intial army force. I had a lot of fun building and painting this tank and I'm looking forward to using it in my games. I packed as much firepower into this tank to take down anything heavy that I might run into. All lascannons with a HK for extra killing power!

Crimson Fist Motor Pool: Razorback #1
As we trek thru the motor pool we come to my next new piece of armor, the multi role Razorback! This tank I put together to transport and support my Sternguard squad that I have already built. Again I have taken the FW armor add on, and as a bonus since this is going to be a special ride for my elite troops I picked up a FW Heavy Bolter turret. It gives the tank a unique profile compared to a standard twin linked heavy bolter armed tank. I also gave it the storm bolter upgrade for more Dakka!

Crimson Fist Motor Pool: Rhino #1
Let's start off the return of the blog with a little armor! In the last year I have had a chance to 3 tanks which I will feature in the coming weeks. This week I will start with the humble Rhino transport. This one was built for use with my Tac Marine squads, and has the markings to go with it. I still need to finish another hatch with a second storm bolter to use as having 2 sets of twin link bolters, but for now this will have to do. Overall this model was fun to paint but the extra armor from FW required a little bit of work to conform to the body, but that's resin for you.....

Rynnsguard HQ Back Online!
Well it's been a while since I last posted anything on my blog. This month we got a new Marine codex and with it some new additions. The Crimson Fist have gotten a few additions like Bolter Drill, and Pedro Kantor is still in the book along with all his special rules. I have gotten the bug back again to work on my CF and I am working to get some tanks and speeders done along with a few new additions to the army. I also have a new blueprint on how I want the 4th company to look, thanks to Planet Strike I have a basic blueprint of what the CF have left to work with.....
Time to get to work!
Enjoy! :)

Crimson Fist: 2nd Tactical Squad
A bit of a surprise addition to the army when I found these marines. I was looking in a storage box of marine stuff when I ran into these models. These are marines from the previous 40K starter box, the Battle for Macragge box set. A few of them I had use for test paint schemes and a few were primed, but it was a full squad with a heavy weapon and assault weapon waiting to find a home. I figured these guys won't take long to paint so I added the extra surprise tactical squad to the army. One challenge with this squad was they didn't have molded tac squad logos so I had to use the tac logos from the FW CF decal sheet and they came out perfect, similar to the first squads look.

Crimson Fist: Tactical Scout Squads
At the start of the Rynn's World Challenge I had all these old metal scouts waiting to join the ranks of the new army, and some I had already started working on years before. Since the army is a post Rynn's World invasion force scouts will play a major role in the army. So round 2 of painting brought these guys around to finish. This is 2 squads of 6 scouts each, with a rocket launcher for a heavy weapon. Basic scouts with bolt pistols and combat blades for holding objectives or infiltrating into enemy lines. The scouts were a change from the same ole same ole of painting power armor.

Crimson Fist: Terminator Squad (Part 2)
What's better then 5 terminators? How about 5 more with heavy weapons! After finishing my first 5 AoBR termies, I got to thinking that they need more firepower so I picked up regular terminator box set and got to work. The first 5 weren't that tough to paint so I didn't think these would be either. A little more of challenge and the bits allowed me to make they look a little different, I also added some chain fist to bring the pain to some tanks in close combat. I chose the Cyclone Launcher and Assault Cannon for my heavy weapons choice since this squad is mostly shooty. Well now that I have a full squad, time to find a transport

Crimson Fist: 1st Sternguard Squad
The unit that started this whole project. This was the first squad I painted up in the CF colors. The unit sat around doing nothing for a long time, after a while I did get around to building up a few of the models with weapons and gears. After a while I got busy elsewhere, now that the project is in full swing I have come back to this unit and finished it off finally. Armed with new Forgeworld bolters for a better sternguard look. They also have some modified markers to show they are different from the rank marines, two fist painted red, also infantry markers in silver instead of red, as well as different chapter insignia. I've been told that GW no longer makes these kinds of fist shoulder pads, and I have a few more, so I might add few more veterans in the future, for now 5 is enough. Enjoy the modified motion detector I put on the heavy bolter.

Crimson Fist: Captain Alessio Cortez
Captain Cortez is the leader of the Crimson Fist 4th Company. He is known as the Master of the Charge, and besides Pedro is the only other CF character with his own model. I picked this model up a long time ago when I began collecting pieces for my Crimson Fist army. While it is known to be the most notorious model ever made by GW, it's still CF history. I liked the character in Rynn's World, and like his background. So for now he is my army leader, a basic captain with a few upgrades.
Enjoy! :)

Update: Crimson Fist Transports
A small update on some of the things I'm grinding away on for my Crimson Fist army. Now that a few units are finished, it's time to bring out the transport options for them. I wanted to give my transports the bulky full armored look, so here are two Rhino chasies that will work as either Rhinos or Razorbacks for various units. The pieces worked out fairly well, but the armor kits is perhaps the most annoying kit I have ever had to work with from the FW Line, I still have a little bit of greenstuff work to do on the doors.

Crimson Fist: Tactical Squad
Here is another unplanned addition to my Fist army. These guys were also an added unit from the Rynn's World Challenge. A full 10 man tac squad with a flamer and rocket launcher, straight out of AoBR. The squad came out real well, and I have already begun work on a Rhino for them to ride in. The 10 man squad will be handy to add more troops to my original list of only 2 scout squads.
Enjoy! :)

Crimson Fist: Terminator Squad
Next up is my new Termiantor squad. Not something I planned for the army, but when I jumped onto the Rynn's World Challanege I had to paint up a termiantor squad so here they are. I actually had a blast working on these guys, so much so that I have already picked up 5 more Termies to make it a full 10 man squad with 2 heavy weapons. So reineforcements are on the way for this squad. I my many games of Zone Mortalis these guys will come in handy too!
Enjoy! :)

Rynn's World Challenge Completed!
A month ago today I split a box of Assault of Blackreach starter set, and I set myself a goal of painting the marines in that box in the scheme of the crimson fist. While the store event ended on the day the 25th anniversary model came out, and I won that goal I gave myself a month to finish as much of what I had waiting for my crimson fist army and see my results. Well it's a month later and I have a fully based and painted army of Crimson Fist marines waiting to game up!
In the end I changed the captain that came with the box for the Captain Cortez model instead. While it is an old bad model I think my paint work came out well. In addition I was able to finish the scout squads I have been working on and off for the last year when I had time for the army. I have also pulled the marine sternguard unit I had somewhat finished a while back and am in the process of rebuilding them with new gear. Its been a fun and intense project and one I have been waiting to get into for a few years now since I chose this chapter as my vanilla marine choice. I got a few other piece now waiting on my workbench for the army and in the coming days I will give each unit types a separate post to show some better pics. I will also have a gallery for the army up soon too. Let me know what you think of the results!
